Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

OUr story
In 2019, Eric and Nicolena visited the rural mountain community of La Sorto, Honduras, for the first time. During their visit, they met a family in need—one they would spend the next three years walking alongside, helping them work toward sustainability. As they poured into this family, the Lord placed a burden on Eric's heart to one day return and do even more in La Sorto. Though he wasn’t sure what that would look like or when it would happen, they both began praying.
About two years later, Nicolena found herself awake in the night, unable to sleep. That’s when God spoke to her, giving her the name Growing Love and revealing a vision—one of empowering families and communities to break generational chains and follow His plan for their lives. He made it clear that Growing Love would not only provide opportunities for growth but would first and foremost mirror Christ’s love. They were called to show families that God is pursuing them, pouring out His love and grace, so that they in turn could share His love with others—creating a new cycle, the growing of love.
For nearly four years, Eric and Nicolena continued praying over this calling, waiting for God’s timing. Then, in October 2023, He made it abundantly clear: it was time. With that confirmation, they took the first step toward the vision He had been unfolding all along.
Growing Love, Inc. officially became a nonprofit on January 28th, 2025. Eric now serves as the National Director and Nicolena as the CEO.
Where we work
In Honduras, many families are trapped in a cycle of poverty that’s hard to escape. Lack of access to food, clean water, education, and healthcare puts children at a disadvantage from the start. Without education and skills, these children struggle to find good jobs or earn a stable income. As they grow up, they face the same challenges their parents did, passing the cycle down through generations.
By providing support, we are reflecting Christ’s love and offering these families a chance to escape the cycle. Through education, resources, and community, we can help them build a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
